Diode Surgery is done predominantly in contact mode with a “conditioned” (carbonised) tip. This layer of carbon absorbs the diode energy and converts it into heat. This “hotting” can then be used to vaporise the contacted target tissue. Using the increased power density through the conical/chisel tip or the fibre tip the beam is focused to be a precise cutting tool. In skilled hands, the depth of collateral thermal damage is approx. 300-600 microns.
Skin/tissue tension and a perpendicular orientation of the diode tip to the target tissue are crucial elements to improve surgical cutting efficiency and minimise collateral thermal damage. A slow, steady hand speed and light touch means the power of the beam cuts and coagulates as it interacts with the tissue. Depth of tissue cutting is managed by the clinician, power and pulsing modes. *Active smoke evacuation/ good ventilation is required when using surgical mode.
Clips onto the handpiece in place of the optical zoom. Includes software and training. Includes: CUBE Adapter [MP668], Surgical Handpiece [PF009C], Surgical Tips (20) [MP419], Fibre Cutter [6091669], 400µm Fibre [MP667], Case for Surgical optical parts [MP711].
